About Dr Sharath Chandru

Beginning his dental career in India before establishing a new professional chapter in Australia has shaped a grounded and adaptable approach to patient care, with Dr Sharath Chandru bringing a strong appreciation for making people feel heard, comfortable, and confident throughout their dental experience.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences in Bangalore, Dr Sharath spent approximately four years practising in India, including undertaking community dental work. Following his move to Australia, successfully completing the Australian Dental Council examinations allowed him to continue his clinical journey, with ongoing learning and professional development remaining an important part of his career.

Creating a welcoming and comfortable experience is central to how Dr Sharath practices, particularly when helping patients understand their oral health and treatment options. Taking the time to listen to individual concerns, explain treatment clearly, and understand what each person hopes to achieve allows him to develop personalised treatment plans and build genuine relationships with patients over time.

A particular interest in restorative dentistry, surgical extractions, and root canal treatment reflects a practical and patient-focused approach to his care. Supporting this, Dr Sharath enjoys crown and bridge work, including onlays, with prevention and patient education remaining an important part of helping patients maintain their oral health and feel confident in their smile.

Building long-term relationships is one of the aspects of dentistry Dr Sharath finds most rewarding, alongside the opportunity to combine science and precision with genuine human connection. Helping someone move beyond discomfort, regain confidence in their smile, or improve their oral health allows him to see the positive difference dentistry can make in everyday life.

Outside of dentistry, an active lifestyle sees Dr Sharath enjoying trekking, swimming, and playing cricket, along with exploring new places and spending quality time with family and friends. Continuing to develop both personally and professionally is also important to him.
